Main Projects:

The Faith Action Network (FAN) is an interfaith, multiracial, multi-
generational  alliance of Michigan People of Faith working to secure
positive outcomes on  Same Gender Loving, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
Transgender, Intersex and Queer  (SGL, LGBTIQ) policy issues and to
shape public opinion in key Michigan areas by organizing and
mobilizing progressive clergy, lay people and faith  communities to
take a firm and proactive stand for Justice.

The Together In Faith (TIF) Collaborative began in 2004 as a
nationwide  conference bringing together SGL, LGBTQ and Ally
people of all ages, races,  religions and spiritualities from around the
country for skill-enhancing  workshops, led by nationally renowned
activists and community-building  activities with like-minded
progressive People of Faith.

Today, the Together in Faith Collaborative continues to bring
SGL, LGBTQ  and Straight Allies of all ages, races, religions and
spiritualities together in  Michigan. By focusing on Michigan, the
opportunity to support and connect  SGL, LGBTQA and faith leaders
to make sustainable changes within Michigan  increases.

Opportunities for skill development continues as does community
and team building.  Unlike the nationwide conference of years past,
the Collaborative is a more  intimate atmosphere, open to less than 50
participants. This provides both a  retreat and reflective atmosphere
for clergy, lay leaders, activists and  organizers to rejuvenate and
restore themselves and their spiritual  connections.

Lift Every Voice brings you a series of Personal Stories on Faith and
Identity, places of  worship that are truly Welcoming and Affirming and
thoughts on Policy and Legislation!  If you would like to be included in
the Lift Every Voice Project please contact Inclusive Justice
Director.

Actions that lead to problem solving or resolution of longstanding
conflicts  begin with constructive speech. Like any form of action, speech
can be non-violent or violent. Dialogue that builds common ground is
essential for peace and leads to healing, transformation and beloved
community. In potentially violent or difficult situations, we are presented
with an opportunity. We can give you the skills you need to deescalate
and connect. By building on the C-LARA Method, (Center, Listen, Affirm,
Respond and Add) utilized internationally in peace building and conflict
resolution, the Inclusive Justice Program can assist your congregation,
organization or school in building an environment where all are valued
and peace is promoted. Trainings are available from 3 hours to weekend
long retreats and are customized to your communities needs. All trainings
are conducted by a team of 2 facilitators.

Suggested Donation: $10 – $50 per participant per 3-hour block of t raining
time. None one will be turned away.

I Divine is an interfaith and multi-racial youth project for Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Ally Michigan Youth of Faith, Spirit
and Conscience. Youth throughout our faith communities are often
marginalized. LGBTQI and Ally youth are often further marginalized.

Consequently, we have developed  “I Divine.”  Open to 50 youth
(30 years old or younger) throughout Michigan, youth participate in a
creative expression of their faith/spirituality, self/sexual orientation and
community.

Each youth receives a camera to capture their perspective and will also be
asked to write about the final photograph they choose to include in a
gallery display held for National Coming Out Day, October 11, 2010. The
display will travel throughout Michigan primarily in faith spaces, and
opportunities for the youth who participated to share this experience will
be offered. If you would like youth from your community or congregation to
be included, please contact Director.
